El Capitan

After much relaxation in Napa, we put our hiking boots on and headed to Yosemite.  There, we stayed in a fantastic yurt out in the ol' wilderness (we found it on airbnb and it was fabulous!), had PB&J sandwiches by the Merced River and ate the best hot wings I've ever had in a real life gold rush saloon! It was just the best.

Napa Valley

When it comes to things to do in Napa there are two activities that immediately spring to mind: 1) go wine tasting and 2) eat good food.  Thankfully, my preggers state allowed me to do one of the two.  A short but pleasant vineyard tour around Robert Mondavi (he's the spitting image of Christopher Plummer) winery followed by a meal at Mustard's Grill was just right for us.  The next day was followed by the most expensive picnic lunch ever from Dean & DeLuca's enjoyed by the wonderful Lake Hennessy.

The Golden Coast

Remember this post about our honeymoon - shockingly written over a year ago now?  Well, our dream became a reality when we flew from London to San Francisco on August 23.  What we had before us was a meticulously planned 21 day road-trip through San Francisco, Napa Valley, Yosemite, Los Angeles and a northbound drive up the Pacific Coast.

This week, I'll be posting a few pics of our honeymoon starting off with the wonderfully beautiful and quaint San Francisco...

Jan Photo a Day Challenge: Week 2

Snowcapped mountains and all that jazz.

It's actually quite fun to look back on the pics that have defined my week.  It's so easy to forget the recent past.  Looking back, it was a quite a successful one.  We signed a lease on a new apartment, bought paint samples to try on the walls, went out for burgers and frozen yoghurt with my sis and mom and I took a bike ride with my sister's dog.

I also forgot to take Day 11 of my January Photo a Day Challenge. WOOPS!  Better luck next time.

Follow me on Instagram here.

Day 9.  I started re-reading The Happiness Project

Day 10.  My sister's dog Poppy at the dinner table

Day 12.  Snow-capped mountains in Athens, Greece

Day 13.  It's Friday and Poppy's in a basket

Day 14. Frozen yoghurt on a cold Saturday afternoon

Day. 15  Happiness is testing out colours on our new rented walls.

Hope you've had a good week!

And if you haven't had your 8 glasses of water yet, I dare you to down 2 glasses right now.  You'll be a quarter of the way there. Woo hoo!

My Week with Instagram

Snap. Snap.

As I mentioned in this post, I'm taking part in Bleubird's January Photo a Day challenge, #janphotoaday.  It's been lots of fun keeping my phone at the ready to capture an inspiring moment.  I've felt guilty a lot of the times as I'd often forget until the end of the day to take a picture.  This explains why a lot of my photos are from inside the house.  If this little project has taught me anything so far it's to get out of the house more!

Enjoy the pics. And if you'd like to follow me on instagram that would make me very happy.
