Oh Nigella!

How do you cook the way you do and look the way you do?

If you have not yet heard of Nigella Lawson I urge you to look her up immediately.  she's the author of How to Be a Domestic Goddess: Baking and the Art of Comfort Cooking and creator of some of the most delectable, mouth-watering, calorie-infused gastronimic delights.  And all this whilst looking like hotness just got hotter.  A successful business-woman (according to Wikipedia she's worth 15million GBP - EEP!) and mother of two she is definitely one of my absolute role models.

The lady you see before you is 51!!  And she eats whatever the heck she wants! What does that tell you?

She recently guest-edited an issue of UK's weekly free magazine, Stylist, gracing their cover dripping in salted caramel (I would!).

The Nigella Issue

You absolutely MUST check out her interview inside as well as her 10 exclusive recipes for the magazine.  Some of my faves are: Spinach and Coconut Soup, Pork Steak with Port and Figs and Nutella Cheesecake.

You can read the whole issue of Stylist here.  And don't forget to sign up to their daily dose of goodness, Emerald St.

Weekend Getaway

Off to the mountains we go.

Now that we have the blessed internet back in our lives, I predict a lot less time actually "spending" it with my hubby.  We will both continue our love affairs with our computer screens.  It's not right, I know.  Perhaps we should implement a no-computers after 6pm rule?  Not sure how we'll tackle that one.

I am pleased to say though that we had a lovely little weekend getaway to the not-much-visited mountainous region of Pelion in Northern Greece.  With an abundance of lovely food, burning wood fires, fallen leaves, imposing moutainsides and moody beaches we have come back thoroughly refreshed.

We came across these puppies and their Mama in the middle of the road!

Back to the grindstone for both of us now.  Although we have a lovely few weeks ahead with best friends coming to visit from afar and, of course, Christmas to look forward to.

Huge thanks to 8tracks.com for saving me from a silent day at home in front of my laptop today!

My Life Now in Pictures...

I've been away in dreary London for a week...

Went over for work and to oversee our films at the BIFAs (British Independent Film Awards. P.S. - Our very own Tyrannosaur won best British Film! Go see it. Now.) so I have been missing this ol' blogosphere quite terribly.  Not to mention that I feel wholy ashamed that my last post was about Thanksgiving. Oh dear.

Well, I'm back in sunny Athens now.  Our Christmas tree has been duly decorated.  Our christmassy smelly Yankee candles are lit.  And I'm ready to take on the holiday season...

Bring it.

Ye Ol' Christmas Tree

What happens when you eat a whole Terry's Chocolate Orange? We shall soon find out.

Saw this on my walk to work this morning. It made me happy.

So what stage are you at in your holiday prep? Do not tell me your Christmas shopping is already done...
